Design and Implementation for LTA Punggol Extension Contract C715 EPB TBM Mucking Monitoring
Due to relatively short driving distance of TBM tunneling for this Punggol extension project, client and contractor decided not to use conventional belt conveyor. Large muck container car (8-ton capacity) was adopted instead, for both initial and main drive. Traditionally, in order to count excavated soil volume and carry out assessment for tunneling parameters, contractor needs to weight the muck car/soil on the gantry crane at launching shaft locations.
